June 18-20, 2010
Now in it’s 22nd year, the Triple Bypass is a classic Colorado cycling event. There’s no doubt about it, whether you’re an experienced racer or a new enthusiast, this 120-mile journey over three major mountain passes is a challenge for everyone who rolls across the start line. At Carmichael Training Systems, we know that optimal preparation leads to more fun, faster times, and happier athletes, and we’ve partnered with Team Evergreen to create a training camp experience designed to improve your performance at this year’s Triple.
Nearly every cyclist we work with wants to improve his or her ability to ride uphill, and with three major mountain passes and more than 10,000 total feet of climbing – at altitudes up to nearly 12,000 feet - improving your climbing skills and fitness are key to having a successful Triple Bypass experience. This camp will teach you key techniques that help riders of all sizes and shapes excel when the road tips toward the sky. And since what goes up must come down, we'll also help you develop the confidence and skills you need to descend quickly, safely, and efficiently. Camps include a CTS Field Test and subsequent review of test data with the coaching staff to determine your most effective climbing pace.
Our two-and-a half day Climbing Camps welcome riders of ALL LEVELS, from beginners to advanced. We highly recommend that your bicycle be equipped with a 12-27 cassette, and/or a compact crankset, for this camp.
The weather during this time of year can vary from 50-85 degrees, and although rain showers can sometimes pass through at higher elevations. Be sure to come prepared for all weather conditions.
Participants in the CTS Triple Bypass Training Camp will receive a complimentary entry into the 2010 Triple Bypass event. You must attend the camp in order to receive your entry.
