bicycle in dangerous situations. So, while everyone is focusing on Lance's fitness, I’ve been just as
interested to see how comfortable he is in the pack.

What makes the first road stage scary? Since everybody is so fresh, more riders are trying to get into the breakaway, more riders have the energy to fight for position , and more riders believe they have a chance to win. That leads to more bumping, rubbing, braking, cursing, accelerating, and crashing.
